Basin & Marot was founded in 1999 with a clear objective: to import organic, biodynamic and natural wines. Even back then, Jean-François was keen to promote authentic wines, representative of their terroir. From the outset, he worked with winemakers with a long history, whose work carried emotion and vibrancy: mutual trust enabled the development of Basin & Marot.

The range expands rapidly, and the first store opens in 2001. The number of HORECA customers grew, seduced by the quality of the range. Whether from Brussels, Wallonia or Flanders, Jean-François travels the length and breadth of Belgium with his bottles for future customers to taste. Alongside Jean-François, David delivers the wines, strengthening the relationship.

The store moves to 88 rue du Page in 2018 and the warehouse, initially located in Forest, moves closer to the boutique in 2021.

Building on its success, Basin & Marot expands in 2023. Emeline and Benoît joined the team to continue the adventure and pass on the values that Jean-François and David have upheld from the start: fine, precise, emotionally rich wines made by winemakers!
